One of my youngest sisters was recently visiting for several weeks. She does many crafty things, but has never been interested in paper crafting. I finally convinced her to make some cards. She selected the recent June 2023 Paper Pumpkin Welcome Inn kit. I showed her how to follow the directions for her first card. She then made the second one with only a few tips from me. Here are her first two cards! Amazing aren’t they, especially for a first time paper crafter? My sister makes cards now!
Later in the week, she made a third one all by herself (darn, I forgot to take a picture!) She made all of them thank you cards to give to her kitty sitter and doctor’s staff. She even commented that it might be fun to do this once she was home with a group of friends! Great idea and I’m working on helping her do just that.
While in my craft room she was looking at all my supplies and asking questions. Then she found my cat punch and she asked how could you use it to create a card (she’s a cat person like me). I’ve been trying to get her to paper craft for years, so I was excited to show her what she could do with the punch. I got my retired Playful Pets DSP and had her chose a sheet that she wanted to use as her card case. She learned how to heat emboss the cat, then punch it out. She also chose the card stock colors to use for the card and the greeting she wanted to stamp on the card.
Here’s her final card! It looks so cute and I couldn’t be prouder of her card creation….now she’s officially a paper crafter. Maybe I can convince her twin sister that she can do it too! We’ll see.
I had a great time teaching this sister to paper craft. Another sister already makes beautiful cards, maybe I can get the other two to give it a try too!
Thanks for stopping by today. If you don’t have a demonstrator, I’d love to be yours. Just hop over to my site to shop. Hugs to all of you, and happy stamping!
