We were all so excited when one of my nieces announced they had an “Aggie” on the way. (Her and her husband are both Texas A&M grads, hence the cute announcement on their FB page). And when she announced her due date – November 25 – wow…it’s her and her mother, my sister’s birthdays! Wouldn’t that be incredible to have 3 generations with the same birth day! We’ll see, she looked really pregnant on Saturday.
I needed to make a baby card and matching thank you notes for her baby shower on Saturday. My first card I created used the Project Life retired “Little Moments’ cards in a traditional green & yellow theme. Meanwhile I texted my sister to see what color the baby’s room would be so I could plan the cards around that theme. Well the text I got back was “it’s navy, beige and white with a “golf” theme” (they are big golfers!). So back to the drawing board to create this card and matching thank you notes.
On the outside. I used another Little Moments PL card for the background and the cork letters from a Happiness Is PL accessory pack. I love the Baby’s First framelits, I’ve used them multiple times for creating baby cards and thank you notes! And I thought the decorative dots and the Navy dot (from the Floral Boutique DSP!) would lend towards the “golf ball” theme.
Inside I created a pocket to put the Target gift card for her to get some of the bigger items she wanted. I’m so glad I have the envelope liner dies since they are now retired. It adds a nice customized touch my cards. Then I made matching thank you notes for her to use for all the gifts she received. I used the Whisper White notecards and envelope pack as the base for these. Then I added the Night of Navy embossed using the Decorative Dots folder. I was really pleased with how easy they went together and how cute they turned out! I used the Banners for You stamp set and the stamp set from April, 2015 Paper Pumpkin kit.
I made a small box to give them in, but I forgot to take a picture…sigh. I used the thick whisper white card stock for the bottom and the Floral Boutique dots for the lid. Then I used the retired Chevron burlap ribbon to hold it shut with Night of Navy grosgrain ribbons to create a multiple bow.
I’ll share the original baby card I created tomorrow. Since I have a staff member that’s also having a baby, I’m ahead of the game for once with a baby card already to go!
Here’s what I used to create the card and Thank You notes.
