Loving having the time the last several weeks to create cards for various template challenges. Several weekends ago I saw Brian King’s card for the FabFri98 color challenge (Basic Black, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie and Perfect Plum) and loved his idea to make it a non-Halloween card with typical Halloween colors. I was working on SGGWWC template card and decided to try to use those colors in my SGGWWC card. I’m a background texture or DSP kinda girl (otherwise I feel the card looks too bare – I admire those who can resist and create simple cards). I kept trying different patterned DSP with the challenge colors to, but it just wasn’t working. I finally curtailed myself and left it simple and I must admit I think it looked better this way. Here’s my card.
The above picture is without any bling, but it seemed to missing something (I’m resisting, I’m resisting adding a background! LOL). Instead I decide to add rhinestones for a little sparkle. Success – no background paper or dry embossing – I did it! Now back to my usual background papers, layers and dry embossing!
Here’s what you’ll need to make this card:
