The size of the bold lettering on the greeting tags in the February 2018 Paper Pumpkin kit makes it easy to make them the focal point on a card. However, the Sahara Sand color on the card base, the overlays and the letters left a little something missing. COLOR! Yes, I love color and make most of my cards with lots of color. Todays cards are no exception…fun, bright, bold…that’s my JB Stamper mantra!
One of the coordinating colors in the flower tags was Calypso Coral so I chose that as my theme color for all the layers in this card.
I embossed the main layer with the Subtle folder, and cut the frame for the flower tag from the Stitched Rectangle dies and layered all of them using dimensional. But did you notice the word “friend”? It’s not the Sahara Sand letters from the kit. I sponged them with Calypso Coral to fit the card and make it stand out, but blend in with the colors. I stamped the greeting from the kit onto the vellum tag with Stazon Black ink. I was delighted with the bright, bold look of this card that used some of the key parts of the Wildflower Wishes Paper Pumpkin kit.
After I finished this card, I was looking through the remaining pieces of my kit and decided to used the tag where the “thank you” letters came out (see last Thursday’s card). I layered it over the flower tag like the kit directions said…but wait…first I had to color that Sahara Sand tag. I sponged this take with Crushed Curry, hence the darker color than the Daffodil Delight card base. I embossed the front of the card base with the Layered Leaves embossing folder. I popped the tag up on dimensional, then decided the card look a little bare and it needed a ribbon and bow! Over to my ribbon stash and I decided on this Marina Mist striped organdy ribbon. I created a double bow on one side of the tag and a gold faceted gem on the right side. Another simple and quick Paper Pumpkin alternate card.
