As usual, I’m a little behind in playing with all my Stampin’ Up! goodies. In keeping with my 2021 resolutions, I pulled out my retired “For the Love of Felt” kit to create a swap card for one of my groups. The kit contains all the pieces I need to create 4 of several card designs. Since I needed 7 of one design I laid out all the various kit pieces and brought in the coordinating Stampin’ Up! cardstock colors to use as a card base. I decided on to use Pear Pizzazz, Calypso Coral and Very Vanilla.
The DSP layer is actually one of the cards in the kit. Since the card design was on both the front and back, I cut the card base apart so that I had two card pieces. I used the Rectangle Stitched dies and cut it down to layer on top of my Pear Pizzazz card base. I cut the Calypso Coral and Very Vanilla pieces with the Stitched So Sweetly dies. I stamped the greeting using VersaMark ink and heat embossed it with my retired Calypso Coral embossing powder. I laid out the various flower and leaf pieces onto the top layer until I was pleased with the layout. I love the felt flowers and there are quite a few of them!! They added so much depth and interest to the card. Although the kit had lots of leaves, I decided to cut a Shaded Spruce leaf vine with my Stitched Seasons dies and the large felt flower is placed in the center.
The dimensions of the card don’t really show up in the photo, but the center Calypso Coral piece is popped up with dimensionals. I hope my group enjoys my swap card!
After completing the card and getting it in the mail to the group leader, I decided to try a slightly different layout for a second card. This time I used a Bermuda Bay card base and only a Very Vanilla frame in the center. Identical embossed greeting, and flower and leaves layouts. Now I’m trying to decide which version I like the best. Let me know in the comments which one you like the best!
Here’s what I used to make these cards.
I hope you try out this triple fold card technique with some of your DSP! Thanks for stopping by today. Don’t forget Sale-a-bration is going on through February 28. You can earn free stamp sets and DSP with your qualified purchases.
Hugs to all of you, and happy stamping!
