I needed a birthday card for my husband’s admin’s birthday on Monday so I started out planning a Soft Sky, Pool Party card using the Soft Sky striped paper from Season of Cheer. But I couldn’t get the Delightful Daisy DSP out of my head and quickly migrated back to this burst of spring flowers in the soft palate paper for her card. I made a similar card on Saturday (see it here).
The FMS325 template was my inspiration, but I varied it to accommodate the new Happy Wishes stamp set from the Sale-a-bration catalog. This time I used So Saffron since Daffodil Delight yellow was just too bright for the print. I was going to use one of the many butterflies I cut out from earlier last week, but decided the retired Elegant & Bitty butterfly punches would work better for this card. I also dry embossed the butterflies using the retired Confetti embossing folder. And, of course, I had to add some bling with a string of pearls on the butterfly’s body.
Inside I added a strip of the gorgeous print and the reverse colors of butterflies. I didn’t add my usual white insert since I felt the Wisteria Wonder was light enough to write our handwritten message.
And then I trimmed her envelope to match for the final birthday card.
Here’s what I used to make this card:
