Ah, nothing says love better than pretty doilies, hearts and “xoxo”. January 2014 Paper Pumpkin kit had all the ingredients, but I thought it needed a little different approach in putting it together to make it stunning! And of course pretty enough to give to that special someone in your life! The original suggestion was to put the Strawberry Slush stripes on the inside and the craft card on the outside. That seemed a little plain for me, so I reversed the card, adding most of the doily on the outside and just the little leftover snippet on the inside top of the card. I also used only the Basic Gray and Strawberry Slush embellishment with one small Summer Starfruit heart on the front. I like cards that use 2-3 colors not a hodge-podge of many. I think it give is a cleaner, more elegant touch. I left the tag blank so that when I’m ready to give this card I can stamp the appropriate greeting to personalize it. I didn’t have to use anything that wasn’t in the kit to create this version. And I still have lots of embellishments and stickers to use on other cards.
I haven’t made the Coastal Cabana one yet, but I will do a similar card with the color on the outside and the craft card for the inside. I love how versatile the Paper Pumpkin kits can be. You can follow the directions exactly and have a cute card or project. Or you can add your own touch of creativity to truly make it your own card. Either way, they are easy to make and delightful to give! Don’t forget the special 50% off the first 2 months kits when you sign up for your own Paper Pumpkin kits by September 10.
