Painted Harvest for Christmas? Yes!

October 11, 2017 2 Comments

Another day, and another example on how versatile the Painted Harvest stamp set can be for many stamping occasions! Today’s card uses the Painted Harvest stamp set again, but this time to create a Christmas wreath! Really! Changed the colors from Fall and Spring (see my last two days blogs, here and here) to traditional Christmas colors and here’s what I got!

Of course, instead of the Painted Autumn DSP, I switched over to my Quilted Christmas DSP for this beautiful Christmas “Lone Star” quilt pattern (pretty appropriate, don’t you think, since I am from Texas, the Lone Star state!). This time my “flower” used Old Olive and Lemon Lime Twist (not what you would think of for Christmas colors, but I love the effect!) to create my Christmas wreath. I stamped the berries in Real Red, added a Real Red retired ribbon bow** (there are two new Christmas ribbons, Real Read 1/8″ solid ribbon and the Quilted Christmas ribbon, both work great). The greeting comes from the Oh, What Fun stamp set. I used the Layering Ovals dies to cut the layering shapes out of Real Red, Old Olive and Whisper White. I add the 1/4″ strip of Real Red card stock for accent under the tag, and that was it!

**(My bow was made, with what else, the 10-seond bow maker…you have to get this for making your Christmas and Holiday cards! They will go so fast!! BTW-I don’t get any kickback or goodies from Megan for this endorsement, but I feel like this was one of the best gadget investments I’ve made in my crafting purchases!)

This is a quick and easy card to make a lot of Christmas cards. All you need to do is do each step for all your cards at one time, it will speed the process up. So cut and fold all the card bases at once. Then cut your DSP and cardstock layers for all your cards. Stamp all your wreaths at one time, tie all your bows, stamp all your greetings, etc. and then assembly all your cards. It will go quickly when you do each piece all at once.

What a fun way to get more mileage out of a “fall” set, I love it. The wreath has great detail from that petal stamp, and it seems pretty quick and easy to put together too, bonus!
