Especially during this extended period of social distancing we are experiencing with the COVID pandemic. Who would have believed we’d still be doing this almost 8 months later? I’ve been working on feel good cards to send out to friends I haven’t been able to get together with for a while. Today’s card was CASEd from the Mini catalog on page 44. The catalog shows a square card, but I turned mine into a regular sized card.
I started with a Crumb Cake card base and dry embossed the front with the new Tasteful Textile 3D embossing folder. It adds a very interesting texture to the front. For the focal point, I cut a 3-1/2″” square of Cajun Craze. It’s been a while since I’ve used Cajun Craze, but it seems to be my go to color for fall cards. I cut a 3-1/4″ square in Very Vanilla to use as a base to add the 1″ squares of Gilded Autumn DSP and cardstock. Using the delightful Autumn Punch pack (used these punches to create my wreath card) I punched various leaves and acorns from Bumblebee, Cajun Craze and Soft Suede. I played around with the layout choosing different colors in different places until I was happy with the colors. I stamped my greeting in Cajun Craze (there’s that color again-LOL) and used my Banners Pick a punch. I added a Gold banner and a strip of Mint Macaron weave ribbon underneath that tag (this is retired, but use the Basket Weave ribbon in the Gilded Autumn Suite).
Here’s a picture of the card from the catalog. Just remember any time you see a square card you like, you can always turn it into a regular size card! And when you see a card you like, use it to create your own variation for a unique card.
Here’s the supplies you need to make this card:
Thanks for joining me for another fall card. I have a few more ideas I want to try out before I move on to Halloween, then Thanksgiving and Christmas-holiday cards. Oh my…it seems to soon to be thinking about Christmas, but it’s coming fast! Happy stamping!
