Actually very easily! The Paper Pumpkin “Layered Leaves” September-2017 kit supplies were for eight 3″x3″ cards and matching envelopes to accompany a matching gift box. But what if you didn’t need 3″x3″ cards (they don’t meet the U.S. post office minimum size for mailing..hmm)? Turn them into beautiful regular size cards! That’s what I’ve been doing for this week’s cards.
Today’s card uses the actual 3″x3″ card opened up and adhered to the front of my card. I cut apart the matching envelope (it had a beautiful Calypso Coral wash) to make the bands on both sides of the Soft Suede card! Here’s the card:
Wait, how’d did I do that? I carefully pulled the envelope apart and then cut two strips from the center of it. The left side was about 1″ wide and the right side was about 3/4″ wide and cut 5-1/2″ long to fit my card. These pieces were just wide enough so that the Soft Suede card would cover the edges and look like the Calypso Coral pieces went across the entire card. Since you don’t see the middle, I had enough paper from the envelope for my card.
The card base is Very Vanilla, as is the the greeting tag. I layered the tag on a Cajun Craze piece, both die cut with my Layering Circles dies. I used my Gold Wink of Stella pen to highlight the embossed design on the card. The leaf was stamped with Versamark and then heat embossed with Copper Emboss powder. I had some beautiful sheer organza ribbon from long, long ago (not Stampin’ Up!) that seemed to fit the card perfectly. I saw a number of cards from other crafters that used the card base for their cards so I combined several ideas into one for my CASE.
Here’s the extra Stampin’ Up! supplies I used to make this card.
So beautiful
Thanks so much. It was fun to create the regular size card since I didn’t need the 3×3 cards. I love my Paper Pumpkin kits!
