I love the new Approaching Perfection stamp set from Stampin’ Up! Sale-a-Bration! I’ve used it on a number of cards already, and I’m sure it will be one of my most used stamp sets for a while! I waited for this week’s FMS469 so I could create another birthday card with this stamp set! Another Sale-a-Bration item I’m playing with is the Oh So Ombre DSP with its bright colors. You know I love my brights and the DSP make this card! I used a Basic White card base, Granny Apple Green bottom frame layer and the DSP on top.
I used only 1 line of one of the greetings, did you ever think to do that? I originally stamped it directly on the DSP….oops…smeared. Hmph! Another piece of DSP, didn’t get it fully stamped – darn. So I was back to my original piece and decided to add a Basic White tag with the greeting (to cover up my boo-boo). Dang, only partially stamped..my stamping efforts weren’t going too well. Another try, finally got a good stamp on the tag! I attached it with dimensionals over my original stamped greeting. Then the dilemma of what to add for the graphic. I tried circles, abstract circle, flowers….ah…the birthday candles! I used my Stampin’ Up! markers to color the candles, die cut it with the Stitched So Sweetly die and DONE! WHEW that didn’t go as I planned, but I love the finished card! Here’s inside of my card with another of the Approaching Perfection stamps, colored with my Stampin’ Up! markers. Here’s what I used for my card.
Thanks for stopping by today. Don’t forget Sale-a-bration where you’ll find both the Oh So Ombre DSP and the Approaching stamp set.
Hugs to all of you, and happy stamping!

Thanks Kim. The candles were almost an afterthought…I was struggling for what should go there and I glanced at my stamp set and there was my solution!

Thanks Amy! After attending a FB live retreat and listening to some of the top demos saying they too sometimes have difficulties with some cards ending up in the trash! Made meetups feel better when I struggle to get a card just right!
