I finally found time to create a card to enter Connie Stewart’s “Stampin Girls Gone Wild” FB weekend challenge. It’s been a while since I’ve had time to get a card made for this group. Connie’s weekend challenges are always so fun and creative and I love to see what everyone is doing. When I saw the colors she selected for the challenge (Tangerine Tango, Old Olive and Rich Razzleberry) Friday morning I knew I had to create a card.
My first thought was these were Halloween colors. But I had just finished a Halloween card and still no fall cards done, so that was my challenge – create a fall card. I pulled out all my retired fall Stampin’ Up! DSP (my current order isn’t due until next Tuesday, sigh…). I found one of my favorites – Color Me Autumn and decided to use the leaves as my basis for the card. And, yes, there was only the Old Olive of Connie’s selected colors, but I thought the Rich Razzleberry and Tangerine Tango blended really well. I just finished a Christmas card with a really nice layout (see tomorrow’s post) so I decided to do something with a similar template. I tried many options finally settling on the Rich Razzleberry as the card base, with the Old Olive and Tangerine Tango as the accent colors. I finished it late Friday night but wasn’t quite pleased, so I let it set overnight. When I took a look at it again this afternoon, I decided the “flags” needed to be moved down on the card. So here’s my final card – what do you think?
Here’s what I used for this card:
