This is another birthday card using the Beauty of the Earth DSP. The sheet I chose is a forest of fall trees papers painted so that you can easily get 6 card fronts out of each 12″x12″ paper. If you cut it in half across the middle “white” section, then cut each of those pieces into 4″ pieces you’ll end up with six 4″ x 6″ pieces. I cut the top inch off the white area and used it to create the tag for my card. Here is the paper.
I chose Merry Merlot for the card base and layered a Basic White and Misty Moonlight piece under the forest print to make it stand out. I cut the Misty Moonlight tag (from my frame layer before adding it to the card. Saves paper and reduces the overall weight of the card, hence lower postage). I stamped the greeting from the Sale-A-Bration host stamp set “In Your Words” with Misty Moonlight ink. I layered a gold foil leaf cut with the Stitched Leaves dies and swirls of gold thread underneath the tag greeting.
Since the front forest layer ended up being only 3-3/4″ wide (because of the layering over the other colors), I used that extra 1/4″ piece on the inside for added details.
I love how the Beauty of the Earth DSP makes this card with only a few more accents. Have you tried creating cards with this gorgeous paper? Try it, you’ll love the results. Here are the supplies for this card.
Thanks for stopping by today. If you don’t have a demonstrator, I’d love to be yours. Just hop over to my site to shop. Hugs to all of you, and happy stamping!
