Still working on using my Falling in Love DSP and my One Big Meaning stamp set of 7 different ways to say thank you. Today’s card is back to more girly, but subtle colors. Like yesterday’s card (see it here if you missed it), I’m using the graphic side of the Falling in Love DSP but with one of the new 2016-2018 In-Colors, Sweet Sugarplum.
Here’s my first attempt, I thought it might be nice to stamp my greeting directly on the ribbon – but I used our water-based ink…oops…it just kept spreading. Next time, I’d use either our StazOn ink or our Memento Black ink. But, I still like the look even though it is a little blurred.
To hide my “mistake” without redoing the entire card, I cut a strip of Very Vanilla cardstock to fit over the ribbon and stamped my greeting on it. Bleeding ink gone, card saved! Only you and I will ever know it is there.
I like both of them, each give a slightly different look. And it was fun to try something out of the ordinary for my greeting.
Here’s how I made the card:
- Sweet Sugarplum cardstock cut at 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″, scored at 4-1/4″ and folded in half and embossed with the Petal Burst embossing folder
- Basic Gray cardstock cut at 4-1/2″ x 3-1/4″
- Falling in Love DSP cut at 4-1/4″ x 3″
- Basic Gray strip cut at 4-1/2″ x 1-1/2″
- Pink Pirouette two-tone ribbon (can you believe that it matches the Sweet Sugarplum?) cut to wrap around the back sides (it is retired, so unless you have it in your ribbon stash, you’ll need to use a strip of the Sweet Sugarplum cardstock. It will look just as good!)
- Very Vanilla cardstock strip cut at 4-1/2″ x 1″ (if you’re adding the strip like mine)
Here’s the supplies for this card:
Thanks for stopping by again today. I love hearing from all of you about my cards, so let me know what you think!

What a fun series of cards! I just got caught up on the past couple. I love today’s sample – the way you embossed the background and then layered the DSP, ribbon and sentiment add a lot of great texture. Sweet Sugarplum is one of my favorites of the newest in colors – it’s such a great in-between shade of pinky-purple.
