No stamping today, just a few observations of my lackadaisical approach to decorating. Since Halloween was essentially “canceled” last year, I forgot all about decorating for Halloween. I’m generally prompted when my neighbors start decorating their yards with their children. It’s not much, but I usually put out a small “Trick-or-Treaters Stop Here” sign and a triple stacked Jack-o-lanterns. When I pulled them out I noticed they were looking kind of sad and faded, so they are still “resting” in the garage.
Then I saw a friend’s post with her front door “Witch Wreath”. I remembered I bought one last year to replace my “aging” decorations. So out to the garage to find the box. As I was precariously perched on the ladder, my husband came out to see what I was doing. I told him I was trying to move the Christmas wreaths to get my Halloween Witch wreath. Luckily, the dear man rescued me (and my wreath) before I fell off the ladder.
Here’s a picture of my friend’s front door wreath (thanks Colleen and her friend Helen for gifting it to her!!).
I remember when I first saw her wreath is when I went to find one for myself. Here’s a picture of my wreath I had to dig out of my storage in the garage. But it’s up now and I’ve already gotten a few positive comments from my neighbors. In fact, I beat them all in getting my decorations up this year. So maybe I’m not too late?
I also remembered I made several indoor wreaths from Stampin’ Up! kits from previous years. I pulled those out to put in my front hall and in my craft room. Here are the pictures.
So I guess I’m decorated for Halloween and way ahead of my usual schedule of several days before it happens! I hope you enjoyed our two, fun “Witch Wreaths” and the other two I’ve made over the years. Do you decorate for Halloween? Share your decorations in the comments! I hope you are prompted to decorate for either fall or Halloween after seeing this post! It will get you in the mood for cooler temperatures and hopefully lift your spirits for the upcoming holidays over the next several months!
